I want to be able to write custom script to generate document based from any local YAML/JSON file input.

It sounds like you want to be able to use this sort of thing:

from the desktop app in a macro / on-click or somesuch ? If you can sketch what you think would be most useful both from a UX perspective, and also from an API surface wrapped around that I imagine we can add some desktop-pieces to enable that.
