I would like ( love, actually ) to be able to edit Math Formulas using the Formula Editor ( using markup language rather than using the Elements Menus : see e.g. Getting Started with Math and
In fact, using dock menus isn’t working either ( lots of GUI/Focus problems etc ) but that is not the issue because I think that ANY serious use of Math Formulas as embedded objects in text files is eventually going to be using the editor / markup language for editing and the GUI for review in the process.
Basically, just as it is implemented in current LibreOffice. I think this must be relevant to most if not all users who uses math formulas in practially
any way ( I could be wrong, of course )

Thanks a lot for the feedback, Jens — really appreciate you sharing your experience!
You’re absolutely right — editing Math formulas using the markup language is a key feature for many users, especially those working with complex expressions. Your point about the current focus/GUI issues is also noted, and it’s great to hear you’re advocating for a more serious, editor-based workflow like in LibreOffice.
If you have a moment, could you please open a feature request on our GitHub? That way, you’ll get notifications on any updates or progress, and it’ll also help others in the community who are interested in the same functionality to join the discussion.
And if you’re interested in contributing — we’re always happy to help. It’s an open source project, and community input is incredibly valuable!

hello Darshan
no problem - I created #12192. I hope I did it correctly
In fact, I’d consider contributing, but I’m not a developer ( I am a project manager in software development ) so theres probably little I can do to make actual stuff.. Specs may be an exception, though, and I am happy to write it if it helps
