Android App: Copy and paste breaks bullet point formatting

(Apologies if this is not the right forum, If there is a more suitable channel, please feel free to point me in the right direction)

Collobora Office App Version: 24.04.6.2
Hardware: Lenono Tab P11 TB-J606F
Android OS: 11

Downloaded the latest Collabora Office Suite from Google Play, created a new .ODT document, but am experiencing an issue when trying to copy and paste more than one line of text.

Upon paste, the second and subsequent line appears to receive this strange grey bounding box which I haven’t been able to find a way to get rid of.

Does anyone know what this grey box indicates and how do I get rid of it? Text within the grey bounding box doesn’t appear to respond to removing styles. Nor attempting to change to another style.

Occurs when using either the onscreen (Ribbon Menu) copy/paste controls or using a physical bluetooth Keyboard (CTRL+C / CTRL+V).

Many Thanks.

Hi @Cognition, welcome to the Collabora Online forums!

Interesting! Could you share the document here so I can take a look and help you resolve the gray box issue?

Thanks,
Darshan

Hi Darshan, thanks for your reply (and the welcome  )

The forum software appears to currently block me from uploading documents “Sorry, new users can not upload attachments.”

Is there another way to send this to you?

Cheers,

Hello @Cognition can you please send an email with document ?

Thanks,
Darshan

FYI @Cognition, I am uploading the document you have sent me in email.

Cheers,

hello @Cognition i have verified your document

It seems like the grey box you’re seeing is due to copying styled text from another source. There’s no issue with the Collabora Office version itself. The styling, such as bullet points, was carried over when you copied the text. Here’s a video where I show how easily you can interact with the bullet points inside the grey box. The grey box is just a part of the formatting, and you can modify or remove the bullets as needed.

Thanks ,
Darshan
