Bookmark Insertion

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with bookmark insertion inside CODE. When I try to insert a bookmark around multiple sections partially, the bookmark won’t be wrapped correctly. Example:

I try to wrap the bookmark around a bullet point and a paragraph:

But when I save and re-open the document, the inserted bookmark will be around the selected bullet text:

When trying to do this inside Libreoffice, it will be wrapped correctly with no problem. Could this bug be fixed? Is there any workaround to do this?

Hmmm. I tried to reproduce this on my end and it worked fine in Online:

COOLWSD version:
23.05.0.1 (git hash: 012b00d6)

LOKit version:
Collabora Office 23.05.0.1 (git hash: bc5c5de)
Served by: Linux Mint 21.1 6371e19d

which was a test version from a few weeks ago.

I also tested the desktop version of Collabora Office 23.05.0.1, and it worked fine there too.

And how are you inserting this bookmark exactly, are you:

1. Highlighting the text.
   • A normal text line + a few list/bullet points.
2. Pressing “Insert” Tab > “Bookmark” button.
3. Typing in a “Bookmark Name” + Pressing “Insert” button.

And then you:

4. Save the document + reopen it.

Your multi-line bookmark now starts/ends in the wrong text area.

Well, if it works in LibreOffice, it should work the same way in Collabora Office too.

I was able to get work in mine, so maybe it’s a bug that was recently fixed between your version + the latest.

(There’s also been LOTS of bookmark upgrades/fixes going on in the recent versions.)

Heh, could be, could be!

I updated a few weeks back to:

• test some new 23.05 features
• + help me (re)test some of these forum questions.

One great new thing that just got added a few days ago is a new Copy button in:

• Help > About

Now, it’ll be much easier to copy/paste version info into the forum posts + bug reports.
