General Collabora question: digital signature support eg eIDAS-USB token

Does Collabora support digital signature eg eIDAS-USB token?
I read that Collabora online supports multiple visible digital signatures on existing pdfs. However I could not find anything about eIDAS or USB token…

Welcome to the forum, @Baldrick.

Thanks for the question.

I brought this up in the 123rd COOL Weekly Meeting, and there was some discussion about it.

I read that Collabora online supports multiple visible digital signatures on existing pdfs.

Was this the article you were talking about?

Does Collabora support digital signature eg eIDAS-USB token?

No, I don’t believe it’s supported by Collabora Online.

But, I believe Collabora Office / LibreOffice should(?) be able to handle them.

Can you explain a little more of your use-case?

  • How are you using these hardware-based devices to sign your documents?
  • Do you currently use another software to accomplish this?
  • Is signing documents this way required by your business (or government)?

If you explain a little more of how you’re using this, perhaps this can help too.

After your post, I did some searching for “eIDAS”, and I was able to find a talk from:

Thorsten (allotropia) helped add that support into LibreOffice back then.

But trying to get this to even work within/between the browsers/OSes/documents (PLUS the Collabora document server)… that might be a much trickier solution.
