Help disabling autocorrect and spellcheck (cannot find in settings)

Hi, I’m fairly new to Collabora Office.

There are many help articles for how to seemingly disable autocorrect. All of them invariably say “go to Tools. My version (downloaded from the Windows Store - as prompted by the website of Collabora Office itself) does not have the option of ‘Tools’ anywhere that I can see. My version runs a ribbon-style setup with Home, Insert, Layout etc., with seemingly no option for ‘Tools’.

Where I would have expected to find settings for the programme (File > Options) is just quite barren, with only two categories of AI Assistant and Zotero.

Another solution often suggested is to backspace/go back to the word Collabora wrongly “corrected” and do some sort of fixing from there. But there is no context menu appearing.

So, in short: How can I disable autocorrect? And spellcheck too, for that matter.

My system: Windows 11
Collabora Office version 26.04.1.4

Hi @collaboration_writer welcome to the forums! :waving_hand:

You’ve spotted something real — the new Collabora Office (the one from the Windows Store) is built on our Collabora Online technology, so it uses the tabbed ribbon-style UI by default. Most of the older help articles were written for the classic menu layout, which is why “go to Tools” isn’t matching what you see. Sorry for the confusion there!

To disable spellcheck — this one is right in the ribbon:

  • Go to the Review tab → click Auto Spell Check to toggle off the red wavy underlines. (There’s also Spelling Options right next to it for finer control.)

Let me know if this sorts it out for you!

Thanks, Darshan
