Whoa, that one is old (~June 2022).

You probably want to upgrade to the latest 23.05 versions. I’m betting your bug is already fixed.

I tested background images in:

  • COOL 23.05.6.4
  • LibreOffice 7.6.4.1

and they worked. (See steps below.)

  1. Go to “Layout” tab.

  2. Press “Page” button.

  3. Go to “Area” tab.

  4. Click “Image” button.

  • Opening ODT in LibreOffice.

And then your:
