Strange symbols on cell highlight, how to disable?

Excuse the crude image taken from my phone. What is this blue box with circles in the corners? How can this be disabled? This is a Google Pixel tablet using the latest system upgrade and latest available version of Collabora Office.

When creating the issue, it would be helpful if you could:
