Use a stylus/pencil in a tablet with android, using collabora office writer

Hi dear community,

I am using an Android tablet and I would like to use Collabora Office Writer to take notes with the stylus/pencil on the tablet.

In LibreOffice Writer for desktop, I can find in the Drawing toolbar an option called “Curves and Polygons”. which allows me to use the stylus to take handwritten notes, Unfortunately, I cannot find this option in the Collabora Office Writer environment on Android.

Could someone please tell me if this feature is available on Android, or if there is an alternative way to use curves and freehand drawing in Collabora Office Writer on a tablet?

Welcome to collabora online forum :slight_smile:

Unfortunately, the “Curves and Polygons” / freehand drawing tools from desktop LibreOffice are not currently available in Collabora Office on Android.

As alternatives, you can:

  • Use the available basic shape tools
  • Use Draw/Impress for sketching
  • Create handwritten notes in another stylus app and insert them as images into Writer
