JSON Toolbar / Notebookbar changes (Pedro)

  • All of the json files were updated → done.

Canvas / Interactive Performance (Michael)

  • Regression in Impress – Dennis fixed that.

  • Table marker updates

  • Need to have a screen-share with Gabriel

  • Badly need a standard benchmark here … that does a whole session

    • some sensible metrics out of it.
  • Tor working on end to end profiling pieces

  • Rendering slow-down on iOS / Android (Nicolas)

    • used to have quite fast scrolling – now its very slow …

    • scrolling is slow; tiles not rendered etc. - not so fun to use.

    • Mainly in writer …

    • Aron said something got slower for him (Kendy)

      • unsure if a device regression

      • something that changed: message slurping

        • uncovered some problem with zoomed tiles

        • Dennis fixed that today.

    • Are older APKs available ? - download only has last 2-3 days …

    • Would love to have more details on downloads/testing to share (Cor)

      • registering for alpha channel somewhere…

      • Android & iOS is built from the cp-6.4 branch

      • current version in store is 6.4.3 - indeed

      • This is still in the beta / alpha channel

Native sidebars (Kendy)

  • Szymon on vacation this week

  • Sidebar is looking much better, but was working on Freemium bits

Async Saving (Kendy)

  • Ash continuing to make progress

  • currently fuzzing things – found a few issues this way

  • needs review from Michael – to merge more bits to avoid pile-up

  • finding what caused 100% CPU problem …

    • thought it was obvious from the trace (Michael)

      • looked like a closed socket – spinning polling it when its not there …

Pull requests

  • a few that are pending, but Muhammet is taking care of them

  • encouraging to have a new contributor: Chetanya Kandhari on the Mattermost plugin

Cypress query (Andreas K)

  • Unrelated cypress failures on pull-requests causing grief.

  • Muhammet to look into them.

Commit Access

  • approved for Chetanya.

Ongoing work (Kendy)

  • Mert – implemented writer anchors

    • now merged.
  • Mert also done lots of fixes on Android

    • still ongoing – uncovering more issues as we close to release

    • problem with zoom levels is addressed.

    • hope to release a new build this week.

  • TXT/CSV files – in non-mobile online

    • readonly – until people start editing.

      • Then convince them to save as a more reasonable format.
  • PDF rendering

    • coming to the end, re-basing vs. newest master & back-porting to cp-6.4

      • nearly 80 commits; Dennis reviewing it.
  • Performance work – ongoing.

Release schedule bits (Timar)

  • CODE 6.4.9

    • theming fixes from Pedro

    • writer / table editing performance improvements

    • we have a new version people can see in help→about …

  • CODE 6.4.10

    • still blocking on async save & various other bits being merged.

    • More and more good things piling up …

    • hopefully out in the next two weeks or so.

Chasing Window crashes (Gabriel)

  • Got patches merged; Kendy back-porting to cp-6.4

    • test failed there …
  • just touching the cherry-pick button in gerrit (Kendy)

    • thanks for the fixes.
