I have a spreadsheet. One column has Data → Validity → Allow List
Allow empty cells
Show selection list
[ ] Sort entries ascending
Entries are:
Office - In den Ellern
OCÜ
Home Office
Busines Travel
Tab Input Help is empty
Tab Error Alert:
Show error message when invalid values are entered
Action: Stop
Rest empty
In the spreadsheet I select the cell with the mouse.
- The cell shows a drop-down button at the right end of the selected cell.
- I click on the drop-down button.
- A selection list appears.
- I select an entry from the list by clicking on an entry in the list with the mouse.
- The cell value “in the background” changes.
- The list DOES NOT disappear.
- No further significant interaction with the sheet possible. Only reactions:
- TAB key steps through “File” “Edit” … menu and finally ends up in the sheet
- only mouse interaction is that when hovering over the still visible selection list the line items behind the mouse course get highlighted (and previously highlighted line becomes normal). Yet clicking on a highlighted line does not change the cell value in the background.
When I reload the browser page the value in the cell contains the first selected value.
Changing the error action on the validity check to “Warning” and adding a title and message does not change the behaviour.
Issue appears in Firefox, Chrome and Edge on Win and Linux stations.
Don’t know whether to report this here or elsewhere.
