I’m using the Collabora Online Development Edition (CODE) and I’m not able to set the Field Shadings:
Here is a comparation between libreoffice and CODE:
This docs from Collabora office states the following:
To display or hide field highlighting in a document, choose View - Field Shadings. To permanently disable this feature, choose Tools - Options - Collabora Office - Application Colours, and clear the check box in front of Field shadings.
But the Collabora CODE version doesn’t have this options. There is any way to enable the Field Shadings?

This is a little embarrassing, but I see now my mistake: There are 3 version of Collabora.
Collabora Online
Collabora Office
Collabora CODE
Collabora Online and CODE are identical in terms of features. The difference is licensing, support and stability.
Collabora Office is the desktop version. And I was reading the Office documentation but trying to find the options in the CODE/Online versions.
So, at this moment, there is no way to configure shading in the fields. And the default behavior is no shading at all.

**Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.**
In LibreOf… fice Writer, the default behavior for Fields is to have a background shading, making it very easy to identify fields.
As you can see in the image bellow, the left side is Collabora Online/Code, and the right is LibreOffice:
![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/24530396/226685631-178eb218-6147-4f5e-975a-0b683c8ac25e.png)
In Collabora Online it is impossible to know where a `Field` begins or ends.
**Describe the solution you'd like**
I would like to suggest that `Fields` in the document should have a default background shading. In my experience, not having shading makes it difficult to identify fields, making the feature unusable in some cases. I believe most users would appreciate the addition of background shading, as it would improve their experience.
**Describe alternatives you've considered**
One alternative would be something like what we have in Collabora Office -> In the **Collabora Office** documentantion [theis is a chapter about filed shading](https://help.collaboraoffice.com/6.4/en-GB/text/swriter/guide/fields.html?DbPAR=WRITER). Having the option to configure shading would be nice, but not necessary.
