Where can I find reports on editor/concurrency performance?

I searched extensively on the official website but couldn’t find any relevant information. Although the editor is designed to be stateless, the load balancing is implemented via ‌Nginx hash routing‌, meaning each document must be routed to a specific ‌Collabora Online‌ server. This inherently creates challenges for large-scale previews or collaborative editing—unless individual server hardware is scaled up significantly. Otherwise, it seems difficult to support ‌5,000–10,000 concurrent users‌.

hii @gulixiang I think you can see the deatils in Admin console. Have you tried that ?

Hi @darshan I see, that only displays the resource information of a single node. Based on my current JMeter stress testing, an 8-core 16GB configuration can support approximately 500 concurrent previews for a very small document. The performance of PPT documents is very poor, especially when a PPT contains many tables. For example, a 20-page document takes about 15 seconds to open.

Hi @gulixiang, I am an end-user enthusiast, I am not aware of reports/guidelines for scaling, all I know about is the following:

  • Controller software Scale Document Collaboration Without Compromise - Collabora Online and Collabora Office , I don’t know any more about it other than from its web page. So yes, using Kubernetes, then scaling up the server hardware as is recognised needed by the sysadmin may be the current way.
  • More reporting built into the Admin console or Controller would be great, previously I have used business budgets to get things added in LibreOffice.
  • Collabora Online and 1&1 Integration by Gabriel Masei, this is a bit old but may help, also note that Collabora Online has had many improvements since the versions shown in the video (6.4 - 2020, 21.11 - 2021). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k_Z-arTblo
