Release schedule (Andras)

  • Bug fix 22.05 went out last week
  • New iOS release went out also last week

Releasability of master (Michael)

  • UX regressions almost all done
  • Performance issues still to go
  • Cypress
    • Jaume on this – making some good progress …
  • We still need to get staging back into a usable state
    • crash there.

Nicolas

  • Spent some time testing iOS → next to test the new iOS release
    • Looks nice, no more blocker in my opinion
    • Some canvas resource limit is hit with large documents that causes issues …
      • Patrick is looking at fixing that currently.
      • We start to loose tiles → get white rectangles.
  • Next: test the LanguageTool improvements from Mike
    • logging and the possibility to have multiple languages in the same document
    • Also inlcude fallback in the case that particular locale is non existent. Example: PT-PT → PT-BR
    • Still building from master

Community (Pedro)

Community: Dark mode

  • Dark mode branch was rebased → it should get merged after releases provided that we have the toggle working
  • Paris got the rendering working for multiple views with different settings
    • not just dark mode, but non-printing characters etc.
    • nice new features coming for 23.05
    • Impress/Draw is in progress – making good progress.

GitHub activity (Pedro)

  • Pull request backlog is growing – what to do about it ?
    • If the tests run locally – you should push without CI passing.
  • Issues and PR are now being automated (added to the GH project) and we now have less yml files within workflows directory
  • Szymon
    • on vacation this week.
    • JSDialog conversion: a couple more dialogs,
    • now conditional format dialog → has a PR but needs to fix JSDialog widgets
    • Aria labels added also, aria roles also added
    • Accessibility improvements (fixing aria bugs)
  • Link picker got renamed to Smart Picker
  • Pranam also working on JSDialog conversion
    • Fix writer dialog now maybe 4 left
  • Gokay
    • Now working on accessibility around comments (keyboard)
      • Writer almost 90%
    • Improving now the keyboard navigation
      • Tabs were converted to button, additional UI polishing is needed
    • Some more work needed (we need to use grid instead of flex), it needs to be tested with integrator
    • Running tests locally – if safe, please push …
    • Can also help with cypress
  • Gulsah
    • On vacations this week
    • Is looking at why sometimes device-tablet.css is used instead of device-mobile.css (JS) → done, pushed PR → AI To review and test (Pedro)
    • Now will investigate why the scrolling indicator appears on mobile (top-toolbar)

Design bits (Pedro and others)

  • Pedro
    • UI fixing around new regressions and also new stuff on top of accessibility
    • JSDialog, make sure that they have enough column gap distance
      • Widgets to review and improve

Cosmin (1&1)

CORE

  • A regressions in core relating to a very complex document (Timur)
    • so far reverted half-baked patches … that cause problems.
    • Miklos looking into this.
  • Gabriel (1&1): improvements on placeholders in the document (WIP)
    • something useful for contracts – placeholders for names / addresses etc. for signing.
