Community update (Pedro)

  • Videos on Collabora YouTube channel, talks etc. https://www.youtube.com/c/CollaboraOffice/videos

    • easy hacks

      • this week Pedro will ad some more

  • Forum: we are getting cool feedback and questions, and even answers from community

    • Aron and Pedro answer question

  • Alexandru Vladutu (1&1) introduction

    • Gabriel’s college, frontend dev. 10 years

    • contributed security fixes but more to come: frontend fixes

Native sidebars (Szymon)

  • fixes for multiple user, no interference between sessions

  • started to fix small issues, e.g. sidebar jumping to top and other annoying stuff

  • fixed font selectors

  • optimized the messages (no unnecessary invalidations)

  • Impress: not able to hide the sidebar → cypress failures (fixed)

  • We need styling and testing, but sidebar is in good shape overall

  • Next: mobile wizard that is related to sidebar, regressions (widgets changed types etc.)

  • Which release? (Gabriel)

    • 21.06 !

Design bits (Pedro)

  • Improvements to map + document container, design has to be adopted (z-layers etc.)

  • wrt dialogs: focus on consistency (json dialogs)

    • worked together with Szymon

    • desktop ↔ mobile : same dialog

    • improvement wrt block UI (no popup flashing)

Performance / profiling (Tor)

  • Working on improving tracing and profiling to be able to get at performance issues better

  • The automated stress testing framework is being made to work again

  • mostly on master, but backport to 6.4 as well

  • Pranam: worked on automated stress testing. Now single user, but will extend to multiple users.

Stability (Gabriel)

  • tested 6.4.10 manually and it looks better than 6.4.9 and internal version. It’s faster and more stable.

Release schedule bits (Andras)

  • CODE 6.4.10 updates are coming

  • COOL 6.4.10 in the coming weeks
