Welcome updates (Pedro)

  • community feedback around making this less intrusive while keeping the value
  • have enabled ‘Escape’ to dismiss, and added a ‘close’ button.
    • Already live & deployed on the welcome server.
    • Fallback bits for the same stuff need to go into the code.
  • Also fixed some focus issues – which affects both.
  • Will add a timer to spin the slides & close them automatically.

  • Hunting easy-to-fix regressions – Andras K helping out too.
    • eg. blinking cursor.
  • Several mobile fixes on the way.
  • (Really) fixed issues with iPad close button in portrait
  • Edit button on ipad too – fixed for admins.

22.05 bits (Gokay)

  • AI: update community build docs to point at 22.05 branch (Pedro)
  • Have build chains working, can compile for different architectures
  • 22.05
    • release today

Other ongoing work (Szymon)

  • fixing the calc formula-bar in 22.05 (Szymon)
  • fixed a few things related to comments in PDFs (Szymon)
  • fixing some language related bugs related to variants (Pranam)
  • Deltas (Michael)
  • getting much smaller changes: faster, less bandwidth

Android / iOS updates

  • hopefully release next week
  • chasing a few blockers, most seem solved.
  • just need to re-test a few of them.

Issue (Nicolas)

  • an intermittent bug thought fixed, but not:

  • remember a similar problem (Szymon)

    • some fixed in 21.11 - when doing optimizations
    • not importing images, a doc that already has them.
    • happens on latest TestFlight release
    • Firefox on Linux, and/or Safari/Webkit
    • will let us known as/when can reproduce it.
    • may have reproduced (Pedro)
  • DeepL/LanguageTool integration (Nicolas)

    • I think I sent a go to Miklos
    • Adfinis and Nicolas are co-funding these awesome features, with our thanks.
    • we should have real Grammar server integration
    • and also some l10n bits as well.
  • want to shout-out to Tor & team for the great iOS app
