Copy/Paste cells from xls to txt

Hi there,

Strange issue found. When trying copy two or more cells from xls to txt document, paste “tabs” between text data like this

source cell looks like:
1111
2222

destination looks like:
"
1111

            2222"

Any clue ?

Hi John,

Welcome here!
I see the same effect both online and offline - there’s clearly an issue with table markers etc being transferred to the paste text-only buffer.
I’ll see if the problem in known somewhere.

short test shows it is even worse:

looks like some kind of encoding…

  • very first value starts right away and ends with \r\n
  • next cell is separated with two tabs and ends with \r\n
  • next line of tab is like two lines with one tab
  • next cell is separated with two tabs and ends with \r\n
