Dokumentenvorlage ändern in Writer Collabora Desktop Linux

Hallo collabora-team,

ich bin gerade dabei, euer durchaus ansprechendes Collabora-Office zu testen. Leider gelingt es mir nicht, eine Dokumentenvorlage zu ändern. Ich habe eine Anleitung dazu im Internet gefunden. Ich soll mein entsprechend formatiertes Dokument unter Datei-Dokumentenvorlagen abspeichern und als Standard setzen. Klingt einfach! - Leider komme ich unter Datei nur auf das ursprüngliche Hauptmenu - unter speichern kann ich keine Dokumentenvorlage auswählen…

Mmmm, bin etwas ratlos.

Thank you for trying Collabora Office and for the kind words!

What you are seeing is not a mistake on your side. The instructions you found online refer to the classic desktop version of Collabora Office. The current Flatpak is our new desktop application, which uses the Collabora Online interface. In this new interface, the “File > Templates” menu does not exist, and saving your own document as a template or setting it as the default template is not available yet. The templates you see under “New” are the ones bundled with the application.

Until this feature arrives, here are two workarounds:

  1. Keep your formatted document as a stand-in template. Open it, then immediately use “Save As” with a new name before editing. You can also mark the file as read-only in your file manager, so it cannot be overwritten by accident.
  2. If you already have a template file (.ott), the app can open and edit it directly. To create and manage templates, including setting a default one, you can use the classic Collabora Office desktop version

Your use case is a good one, and we would welcome a feature request for user templates and a default template setting in the new application. Please feel free to file one at Github : Sign in to GitHub · GitHub

Was Sie beobachten, ist kein Fehler Ihrerseits. Die Anleitung, die Sie online gefunden haben, bezieht sich auf die klassische Desktop-Version von Collabora Office. Das aktuelle Flatpak ist unsere neue Desktop-Anwendung, die die Oberflaeche von Collabora Online verwendet. In dieser neuen Oberflaeche gibt es das Menue “Datei > Dokumentvorlagen” nicht. Das Speichern eines eigenen Dokuments als Vorlage und das Festlegen einer Standardvorlage sind dort noch nicht verfuegbar. Die Vorlagen unter “Neu” sind die mitgelieferten Vorlagen der Anwendung.

Bis diese Funktion verfuegbar ist, gibt es zwei moegliche Umgehungsloesungen:

  1. Verwenden Sie Ihr formatiertes Dokument als Ersatz fuer eine Vorlage. Oeffnen Sie es und speichern Sie es sofort unter einem neuen Namen (“Speichern unter”), bevor Sie es bearbeiten. Sie koennen die Datei im Dateimanager auch als schreibgeschuetzt markieren, damit sie nicht versehentlich ueberschrieben wird.
  2. Wenn Sie bereits eine Vorlagendatei (.ott) haben, kann die neue Anwendung diese direkt oeffnen und bearbeiten. Zum Erstellen und Verwalten von Vorlagen, einschliesslich der Standardvorlage, koennen Sie parallel die klassische Desktop-Version von Collabora Office

Ihr Anwendungsfall ist ein guter Hinweis fuer uns. Ein Feature-Wunsch fuer eigene Vorlagen und eine einstellbare Standardvorlage in der neuen Anwendung ist sehr willkommen. Sie koennen ihn gerne selbst einreichen, oder Sie geben uns hier Bescheid und wir leiten ihn weiter.
