Hello and thanks for taking the time to test Collabora Online!
It’s often very useful to screen record your testing session so, you and the developer can re-visit at will.
Record your screen
- Linux
- Super simple, one click tools (extremely useful when reporting bugs, or there is a need to quickly get a gif, mp4 or webm etc from a window or region of the screen)
- Peek: GitHub - phw/peek: Simple animated GIF screen recorder with an easy to use interface
- simplescreenrecord: https://www.maartenbaert.be/ simplescreenrecorder/#download (the package has different name depending on the distro, see the link)
- More complex but the standard of screen recording tools (good for remote presentations)

Key cast
To know exactly which keys were registered in the computer and perhaps record that there are a few different ways to do it.
Screencast your keys and mouse (useful when reporting bugs or generally testing)
- Linux: screenkey screenkey / screenkey · GitLab
- Debian/Ubuntu: sudo apt-get install screenkey
- I think some Ubuntu versions have issues so, if that’s you case resort to something else in your repos or to flatpak or there are also some small python utilities around (Keycast - Cast your keypresses and mouse clicks to your screen)
- OpenSUSE: sudo zypper in screenkey
- Fedora: sudo dnf install screenkey
- there are also others around in flathub or appimage repositories
- Mac: there are multiple in app store. Just search for “key cast”.
- Windows: Please feel free add a suggestion here
