.odm files not readable

After copying from my notebook (win11) to my tablet (Android 12), I cannot edit my global document (.odm). It is displayed, but editing is not possible. A folder also contains all individual documents.
What can or must I change?
Thank you.

hii @Senior Sorry about file is not editable…

Can you share the document, I need to reproduce this issue in my android device to see what causes this problem.

Thanks,
Darshan

Hi darshan.
Here is

  • the document i can Not edit
  • 2 documents, which are in the .odm file

Thanks

 It’s only a Link, and not a drive-in !:grinning:

Hahaha Good one! :joy:

Hi Darshan,
your first answers came very quickly to my questions.
Now i ask you, wether you’ve got the link for google-drive??
Today we returned from holidays, so i can now work with the original in win11.
Thanks

I send the original file .odm from win11 to google-drive into the same folder.

When working with master documents (.odm) and subdocuments on different devices, it’s essential to ensure that the paths to the subdocuments are correct and accessible. Here are a few things to check:

  1. Path Verification: Ensure that the paths to the individual subdocuments are still valid on your tablet. If the subdocuments are not accessible, the master document might not allow editing.

  2. Edit Permission: Make sure you have the necessary permissions to edit both the master document and the individual subdocuments on your tablet. If the files are set to read-only, editing will not be possible.

  3. Document Location: If the master document references subdocuments using absolute paths, you might need to adjust these paths if the documents are stored in different directories on your tablet. Using relative paths can help maintain compatibility across devices.

  4. Online Editing Limitations: Some applications on Android might not fully support editing .odm files, especially if they are structured to pull in content from other files. Consider editing the documents using LibreOffice or Collabora Office on a desktop environment.

For more information on working with global documents, refer to the LibreOffice Help Guide.
