Switch between Light & Dark theme (CODE 22.05)

Hello community,
first of all, i really love the new CODE 22.05, but the new dark mode causes a bit trouble around here.

It come´s that it is “too dark” for some people. Is there a way to switch between light and dark and is there also a way to force users to use light or dark?

Second thing is about the tabbed style which is set in the coolwsd.xml, but somehow it isn´t used.

Any help appreciated!
Greetings

Edit:
Just found out that the dark mode is only active with Firefox, Chromium is using the light theme, even with the same Nextcloud User.

Hi @Alternativend : Add dark mode toggle · Issue #5054 · CollaboraOnline/online · GitHub

Thanks! That sounds good.

Hello,
how to disable dark mode for all users ?
Regards

Hey @aukfood, thanks for the question.

Why would you want to disable Dark Mode? Is there a specific reason or issue you are having? (Can you share some screenshots?)

@Tex all data are in black and not visible

@aukfood Thanks for the screenshot.

That looks like your Font Color is accidentally (forced) set to “Black”.

If you:

  1. Highlight the cells (or press Ctrl+A to highlight everything)
  2. Click on the little “Font Color” button.
  3. Press “Automatic” button.

That should fix your problem.

Here’s an image showing where it’s located:

And here’s where you can see the difference in Dark Mode:

  • A1 has “Black” color text.
  • A2 has “Automatic” color text.

Side Note: There are also plans to enhance Dark Mode in the coming versions:

There will be a new button to allow you to “invert the background color” of the document as well. So you’ll pretty much have 2 separate toggles:

  • Change UI to Light/Dark
  • Change document’s background from Light/Dark

This will help in situations like this, where the person who created the document accidentally FORCED certain text colors.
